Hayward Injury Collision Occurs on Highway Near Clawiter Road 

A Hayward injury collision involving several vehicles was reported on westbound State Route 92, just east of Clawiter Road, on March 17. The multiple-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 7:24 a.m. and prompted a response from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Hayward Police Department, and local fire department medics. According to early reports from the CHP traffic incident log, the crash involved at least four vehicles: a Mercedes-Benz, a truck, a Tesla, and a Jeep. 

Emergency Services Called to Scene of Hayward Injury Collision

Initial dispatches indicated that the collision caused significant traffic disruption during the busy morning commute, with multiple westbound lanes temporarily blocked. Emergency personnel were called to the scene to assess occupants for potential injuries and manage the flow of traffic while investigators worked to document the circumstances of the crash.

Accident Under Investigation

The Hayward Police Department contacted the fire department medics to assist with evaluating individuals who may have been injured in the collision. At least one driver or passenger complained of pain, though the total number and severity of injuries have not yet been confirmed. Paramedics provided on-site medical treatment, and some individuals were reportedly transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.

The stretch between Clawiter Road and Interstate 880 is a particularly busy section of highway that sees heavy commuter and commercial traffic daily. Similarly, in October 2024, a multiple-vehicle crash involving a delivery truck and two sedans blocked several lanes of S.R. 92 for nearly an hour. One person sustained moderate injuries, and several others required medical evaluation at the scene. That portion of the highway remains a challenging zone for drivers due to frequent congestion, shifting lanes, and fast-changing traffic conditions.
