Deadly Halloween Night Car Accident in Vallejo
One person was left with fatal trauma during a car accident in Vallejo that happened just after midnight on November 1, 2020. The Vallejo Police Department (VPD) reported that the crash involved a single passenger vehicle and left three people in addition to the decedent with serious injuries. The Solano County Sheriff’s Office is withholding the decedent’s identity at this time. While the crash remains under investigation, VPD has placed the involved driver under arrest on DUI charges.
Crash Information
The crash reportedly occurred shortly before 12:20 p.m. on Lewis Brown Drive near the intersection of Sonoma Boulevard. Police stated that they observed a vehicle traveling at high speeds on Lewis Brown near the intersection of Mini Drive and that the vehicle continued driving westbound until it eventually veered off-road and collided with a traffic pole.
Police discovered that all four occupants of the vehicle had been seriously injured and immediately called for paramedics and ambulances. All vehicle occupants were rushed to nearby hospitals for emergency care. Tragically, one of the passengers of the car lost their life while in hospital custody. Information regarding the condition of the other two passengers has not been released.
Arrest and Investigation
The driver of the vehicle, identified as a 22-year-old man from San Rafael, was formally arrested at the crash scene before being released into hospital custody. After being cleared by hospital staff, the driver was transferred to the Solano County jail on suspicion of driving under the influence resulting in fatal injuries.
