Fresno Bus Accident Injures Three

A bus accident in northeast Fresno on January 10 sent three parties to hospitals for treatment of traumatic injuries. The incident occurred shortly before 4:00 in the afternoon at the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Alluvial Avenue. The collision involved a Fresno Area Express (FAX) bus, Mercedes-Benz SUV, GMC Yukon, Acura TL, and a Chevrolet Traverse. Officials said the driver of a FAX bus was distracted by one of the four passengers on board and ran a red light, resulting in a multi-vehicle collision. One child and one adult on the FAX bus were taken to a local hospital for treatment. One of the other drivers involved in the crash was also transported to a hospital for treatment. An update regarding the conditions of those injured in the accident has not yet been released by officials.

Bus Accident Injuries

In a bus accident, passengers on board may be thrown around inside the bus since many buses are not equipped with seatbelts. This can cause them to strike other passengers, windows, seats, bars, or the floor. Conversely, collisions with buses can also result in serious injuries for those riding in passenger vehicles. Some of the common injuries sustained in bus accidents include bone fractures, crush injuries, spinal cord trauma, traumatic brain injuries, and wrongful death. If you have been injured in an auto accident involving a bus, there are some steps you should take to protect yourself. To learn what steps to take after an auto accident, watch the following YouTube video.

Negligence in a Bus Accident

Bus accidents are often caused by the negligent or reckless actions of drivers. Those who have suffered injuries or lost someone they love in such accidents must prove negligence on the part of the bus driver to claim damages. In some cases, the party can do so by presenting evidence proving that the bus driver was violating a traffic law, such as driving under the influence, running a red light, or speeding.

Government Vehicle Accidents

Government vehicle accidents are often complex. Certain deadlines and criteria must be met to present a claim for resultant losses. As with any car crash, the circumstances and facts of the car wreck must be thoroughly investigated to properly determine liability and break through government immunity. An experienced injury attorney has the knowledge and experience to do so to avoid the potential pitfalls in these claims. Your injury lawyer will be by your side to secure fair compensation for your damages. If this has happened to you or someone in your family, do not hesitate to ask for help from an experienced Fresno personal injury attorney today.

Contacting a Personal Injury Law Firm

Those who have been injured in an accident with a government vehicle are often able to seek repayment for their losses. This can be done by filing a personal injury claim against the government entity which owns and operates the vehicle. However, any personal injury case can involve many legal complexities which can be difficult to navigate alone. This is where the assistance of an experienced personal injury attorney in Fresno can make the difference. An injury attorney with years of experience can help in examining the evidence of the case and conducting an independent investigation to properly determine fault. By doing so, the lawyer can build a strong case for compensation of past and future wage loss, medical expenses (past and future), disfigurement, permanent disability and pain and suffering.

Contingent Fee Basis

Many are under the impression that when they hire an attorney, they are going to be responsible for paying a large lump sum or massive hourly fee. However, this is not entirely true as most injury lawyers work on a contingent fee basis. This means you pay no fees upfront. Your fee is only due after your attorney obtains a successful outcome of your case.
