Four Hospitalized in Auburn Crash

I’m Ed Smith, an Auburn car accident lawyer. A single-vehicle auto accident in Auburn left four individuals with traumatic injuries requiring hospital care.

Accident Information

According to information provided by officers of the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident occurred on January 17, 2018 at approximately 4:15 p.m. on the southbound section of Highway 193 only a short drive north of Dutch court. Reports indicate that a vehicle had been traveling south when the driver lost control.

After the driver lost control, the vehicle reportedly veered off of the road, eventually colliding with a nearby pole. So far, the reason that the driver lost control of their vehicle is not known.

Injuries

After CHP received a report indicating that multiple individuals may have been injured during a car accident, emergency response personnel were dispatched to the accident site. Responders found that the driver of the vehicle, as well as three passengers including a mother and her two children, had all received serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to the Sutter Hospital in Roseville while the three vehicle passengers were taken to the UC Davis Medical Center. Details about the injuries sustained in the accident including injury type and severity are currently unavailable.

Additionally, the vehicle occupants were not identified by authorities but were reported to be residents of the nearby community of Newcastle.

Investigation

Authorities have verified that nobody in the vehicle had been under the influence of any intoxicating substances at the time of the collision. Investigators are currently working to better understand what factors had a part to play in causing the auto accident. While these factors are unknown, they may include things such as a malfunctioning vehicle part, a dangerous defect in the road, driver fatigue, and more.

If you believe you have information pertinent to this accident, you can contact 1-800-TELL-CHP in order to aid in the investigation.

Products Liability Claims

Auto accidents don’t always occur because of a negligent driver. Sometimes the issue is the vehicle itself. Improperly functioning brakes, steering systems, tires, and other vehicle parts can mean serious injuries and even death for those involved in an accident.

When vehicle parts are to blame for an accident, sellers, retailers, and manufacturers may be liable to pay for damages related to the collision including medical expenses, loss of income, property damage, and more.

However, these types of claims are often time-consuming and difficult for those without experience to navigate. As such, having an experienced car accident lawyer in Auburn on your side is a vital and smart step to obtaining the payments that you deserve for your damages.
