Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Linda: One Dead, One Injured After Being Struck in Crosswalk

A fatal pedestrian crash in Linda in Yuba County on Wednesday night, July 23, 2025, claimed the life of an elderly man and left another seriously injured, according to the California Highway Patrol.  The crash happened shortly before 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of N. Beale Road and Park Avenue in the Linda area. According to the California Highway Patrol, an 82-year-old man and a 44-year-old man were crossing N. Beale Road in a marked crosswalk when they were hit by a 32-year-old driver behind the wheel of a Honda Accord.

Emergency personnel responded promptly to the scene. The 82-year-old victim sustained major injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he later died on Thursday as a result of those injuries. The 44-year-old man was also hospitalized with serious injuries.

Initial witness statements suggest the driver failed to notice the pedestrians in the roadway, despite the crosswalk. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. CHP confirmed that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash. The identity of the deceased victim has not yet been released.
