Fatal Motorcycle Accident Near Modesto
I’m Ed Smith, a Modesto car accident lawyer. A Grand Canyon University student was riding his motorcycle near Modesto during the evening hours of Sunday, August 6, 2017. Unfortunately, this would be the last ride the man would take after a vehicle collided with him.
I would like to extend my deepest thoughts and sympathies to the loved ones of the young man that passed away in this tragic motorcycle accident.
A 21-year-old man, who happened to be a 2014 graduate of the Modesto Christian High School, was riding his motorcycle eastbound along Standiford Avenue in the vicinity of Tully Road at about 6:00 pm. The motorcyclist was traveling in the lane closest to the sidewalk. At the same time, a 77-year-old woman was behind the wheel of her Toyota parked along the side of the road. The woman allegedly failed to yield the right-of-way to the motorcyclist by making a U-turn in front of him, resulting in a serious collision.
