On the evening of Saturday, October 22, 2022, officials in the Manteca area reported a fatal hit-and-run crash. The collision occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. at Tidewater Bike Path and Northgate Drive, Manteca PD reported.

A preliminary report by the Manteca Police Department revealed that a man was walking in the area when he was allegedly struck by a vehicle. Witnesses described it as a pickup truck that left the crash site before officials arrived.
Sadly, the pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene by first responders. Officials have identified the deceased as 31-year-old Daniel Yanez of Manteca.
