A fatal crash on Highway 49 leaves two dead, one injured. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), on Sunday evening, August 10, 2025, Two people lost their lives and another suffered injuries in a single-vehicle collision on Highway 49 in El Dorado County

The collision occurred south of Crystal Boulevard at approximately 7:15 p.m. The incident was initially reported as a pedestrian accident, but CHP later determined that two victims had been ejected from a vehicle carrying three occupants. Authorities suspect seat belts were not in use at the time. The condition of the surviving injured individual remains unknown, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
