Early Morning Fairfield Truck Accident Results in Injuries

On Friday, February 5, 2021, a very early morning Fairfield truck accident left at least a single person with serious injuries requiring medical care. California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the incident happened in the very early morning and involved a big-rig in addition to a passenger vehicle. The number of individuals who suffered injuries was not reported, and an investigation of this traumatic truck accident is underway.

Crash Details

CHP traffic reports indicate that the collision happened at around 1:14 a.m. on westbound Highway Interstate 80 between Fairfield and Vallejo just west of the Highway 12 exit. The accident was between a grey Chevrolet pickup truck and a big-rig. Specific details about how the two vehicles collided were not provided, but CHP stated that the pickup truck sustained serious damage and needed to be towed away from the scene.

Police were dispatched to the site and reached the wreck at around 1:19 a.m. Upon arrival, emergency responders found that vehicle occupants had sustained serious injuries. An ambulance was called to the scene, and injured parties were transported to area hospitals.

Investigation

CHP officers investigating this incident haven’t said whether or not there are any suspected causes at this time. Often, truck accidents take place due to more than a single cause, and many common big-rig crash factors are outside of trucker and/or driver control. Examples of this kind of causal factor include faulty roads with damaged pavement or poor lighting as well as issues with malfunctioning truck parts. In both of these situations, an external party such as a government or auto part company may share liability for the crash.

Truck Accident Injuries Can Be Serious

Suffering a truck accident injury is often very serious. Because big-rigs can weigh tens of thousands of pounds, they carry a lot of force into collisions and can easily cause major trauma even at low speeds. For this reason, those injured in trucking crashes frequently need to receive extensive care that can include surgeries, extended hospital stays, physical therapy, and more. Your injury may even necessitate expensive modifications to your home or cause you to lose your job temporarily or permanently.

Quick Action

Because the effects of truck accidents can be so severe, trucking companies are almost always quick to start defending themselves from any kind of financial responsibility, making it much more difficult for injured individuals to obtain the compensation that they deserve. To keep these companies from mitigating their responsibility for the accident, the best thing to do is to call an expert Fairfield truck accident lawyer as soon as possible. A skilled attorney can begin working on your case right away.
