Father and Child Injured in Citrus Heights Crash Near Twin Oaks Avenue

Two people were hospitalized after a Citrus Heights crash near Twin Oaks Avenue on Sunday night, July 20, 2025. According to the Citrus Heights Police Department (CHPD), the crash took place at approximately 8:44 p.m. near the intersection of Twin Oaks Avenue and Patton Avenue.

Dirt Bike Collision Involving Father and Son

When first responders arrived, they found a man from Citrus Heights who had been riding a dirt bike with his 7-year-old son. Authorities say the man failed to stop at a posted stop sign and was struck by an oncoming vehicle. Both the father and child sustained significant injuries and were transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Fortunately, they are expected to recover.
CHPD also confirmed that alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash. The adult rider is facing felony DUI charges.
