What You Should Know About Truck Accident Cases

When dealing with traumatic injuries and property damage from a big rig crash, it is essential to hold the correct at-fault parties liable for the incident and resulting damages. Unlike car accident cases, those that involve large commercial trucks may involve several negligent parties and entities. This may include the driver and owner of the truck, loader or shipper of the cargo, manufacturer of truck parts, trucking company, and more. Tractor-trailer collisions are challenging to navigate because of state and federal regulations that oversee the trucking industry.

An independent investigation into an 18-wheeler accident is often necessary to properly determine fault. However, it is often a time-consuming process, given the substantial evidence and documentation necessary to support a bodily injury claim. Some of the forms of evidence that may be useful include medical records detailing the injuries that were suffered in the truck accident, traffic incident reports, video surveillance of the collision site, testimony from expert witnesses, and other evidence from the truck driver and trucking company.

Fortunately, an experienced Tracy truck accident lawyer can help by sending letters of preservation of evidence immediately to at-fault parties, working with expert witnesses to determine causal factors and damages, and negotiating with insurance companies and defense counsel on your behalf. The legal team at AutoAccident.com can gather and preserve the evidence necessary to build a strong case that demonstrates that the other party was responsible for the collision and reported injuries.
