Benicia is a gorgeous waterside city in Solano County, California. Benicia is part of the San Francisco Bay Area, located in the North Bay region. There are many things that most people don’t know about the city of Benicia. For example, did you know that Benicia was actually the state capital for approximately 13 months from 1853 – 1854? There is much more to learn about the history, culture, and society that stands behind Benicia. One of the best ways to learn about a city is to go out and experience the atmosphere for yourself. I have made things easy by including a small list of upcoming local community events.

Arts Benicia is excited to be presenting its latest exhibition, which highlights the artistic work of the California Photographic Workshops of alumni members. This art exhibition will be honoring its legacy of consistent nurturing towards the proactive development of working professional photographers as well as photographic artists. Sponsored by Bay Photo Lab and California Photographic Workshops, this free art exhibit is not one to be missed!
Farmers Market

Benicia Main Street always attracts locals and non-locals to its ever-popular Farmers Market. An abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables, gourmet foods, baked goods, face painting, arts and crafts, and live entertainment is guaranteed.

Benicia Paint Out

The Benicia Plein Air Gallery will be holding its 4th annual Paint Out this month. Artists from all over town will be painting ‘Plein air’ in this competition that features outdoor painting, reception, awards, and sale. Those who win the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will receive an invitation to showcase their award-winning paintings at the Benicia Plein Air Gallery for a full month!
