Auburn Boulevard Motorcycle Accident Ejects Rider

A rider suffered minor injuries in a North Highlands motorcycle accident on June 14 when the gas tank on his bike reportedly blew up and threw him off. The accident happened around 6:29 p.m. at the intersection of Auburn Boulevard and Kitty Lane. When California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers arrived at the scene, they didn’t know what the motorcyclist had hit, but no other vehicle had been involved.

Rider Transported to Hospital Following Motorcycle Accident

Paramedics with Metro Fire were called to the scene to assess the motorcyclist’s injuries. A witness came forth and told firefighters that the gas tank on the bike had blown up, throwing him off. The rider was transported to Mercy San Juan Medical Center for evaluation and treatment. The motorcycle was towed from the scene. An investigation will be conducted by the CHP traffic crash unit to determine what happened to cause the crash.

Motorcycle Crashes Caused by External Factors

Most motorcycle collisions occur as a result of the rider being negligent, such as speeding or being distracted. However, there are other reasons for such a crash. In the event of motorcycle accidents caused by external factors, the injured rider may be entitled to compensation. It will help them recover their medical expenses, lost wages due to the rider’s inability to work, as well as pain and suffering damages.

Defective Motorcycle Parts Can Cause Serious Injuries

An accident caused by a defective motorcycle part may be the responsibility of the manufacturer and others along the production line. Any of these issues, including faulty brakes, steering problems, or defective tires, could cause an accident that results in injuries. In the event that any defects are discovered on the motorcycle involved in the accident, it is recommended that it be kept until any defects are found. A person who has been injured can recover compensation by filing a product liability lawsuit against the manufacturer and others.

Motorcycle Collisions Can Be Caused by Government Negligence

Motorcyclist injuries caused by negligent road maintenance may be the responsibility of government entities. Several factors can cause a rider to lose control of their motorcycle, such as inadequate lighting, potholes, gravel or debris on the road or broken traffic signals. In order to file a claim against a government entity, the statute of limitations must be met within six months.

If the government entity refuses or ignores your claim, other deadlines may apply. When you hire a personal injury lawyer to handle the paperwork and filing, you can be sure that it will be done on time.
