Child Injured in Alleged Napa DUI Crash

On Saturday, February 29, 2020, an alleged Napa DUI crash left a 3-year-old child with serious injuries. According to officers of the Napa area California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash involved a single vehicle and happened in a rural area late at night. The driver of the vehicle, who also reportedly suffered injuries, has since been arrested on charges related to driving under the influence and is currently in custody of the Napa County jail. Updates on the conditions of the injured child have not been reported.

Collision Information

The crash took place outside of the city of Calistoga at around 11:57 p.m. CHP stated that a 24-year-old man was driving a 2014 Honda westbound on Tubbs Lane when his vehicle passed through an intersection without stopping and collided with a rock wall.

Shortly after the accident happened, emergency responders arrived at the scene. Officials stated that they discovered both the driver and the child passenger with moderate trauma. Both individuals were placed in an ambulance and driven to a local hospital to receive immediate treatment. Following treatment at the hospital, the driver was transferred to the county jail, where he faces a felony charge of DUI, causing injury as well as a misdemeanor count of endangering a child.

Recovering from an Accident Injury

Being injured during a car accident can have far-reaching effects on your life. The recovery process is often painful, and it can take months or even years for you or your loved one to fully heal. Even after the recovery, many people are left with symptoms like limited mobility or scarring that affect them for the rest of their lives. While most of these symptoms can be managed, dealing with them can be both mentally stressful and financially difficult.

Furthermore, many families with a child who suffers collision injuries face a variety of money issues. Often, accident injuries require extensive medical care, including surgeries, hospital stays, physical therapy, and long-term medication use. All of these things can be very expensive, and families can be left in a place where they are unsure about how they will be able to afford to pay for the necessary treatment.

Getting Help

Fortunately, many families in this difficult situation are able to get help by working with a local attorney and filing an injury claim. By pursuing a personal injury claim, families can frequently claim compensation from negligent parties for a variety of damages related to the collision. These damages typically cover measurable economic losses like medical bills, but can also provide compensation for personal suffering related to your quality of life.

However, it’s important to keep in mind that navigating the personal injury claims process can be difficult, and many parties, including insurance companies, may not offer you the money that you truly deserve. For these reasons, it’s always best to seek help from a trusted Napa personal injury lawyer. To find out how you can get in touch with a top-rated attorney, watch this helpful video:
