SONORA, CA — Law enforcement arrived on the scene of a collision on Highway 49 not far from Columbia Way late Thursday morning.

The accident occurred just south of Parrotts Ferry Road in Sonora.

The accident, which involved a vehicle and a person on a bicycle, halted traffic on Highway 49’s northbound lane for a considerable length of time. The bicyclist received rapid assistance from first responders.

SONORA, CA – Both directions of Highway 108 were temporarily blocked Thursday morning following a crash between South Washington Street and lower Mono Way, near the Sonora Walmart.
Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene to assist. According to the CHP, the crash appears to have been caused by an unsafe U-turn. Three individuals sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate, and were given immediate medical attention.

Traffic in the area was significantly impacted for some time. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident. Our thoughts are with those affected, and we’re grateful to the first responders for their quick action.
