STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA – A tragic crash in Stanislaus County on Friday evening claimed the life of a 22-year-old man and left five others injured, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision, involving two vehicles, happened just before 5:45 p.m. on Carpenter Road, south of Taylor Road.
CHP officials reported that a Honda sedan, driven by the young man from Modesto, was heading north on Carpenter Road when it crossed the double yellow lines and collided with a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe.
The driver of the Honda was transported to a nearby hospital, where he sadly passed away. The driver of the Tahoe, along with four additional passengers, also sustained major injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Investigators believe that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. Authorities also noted that not all individuals involved were wearing seatbelts at the time.
Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones affected by this heartbreaking incident.
