Accidents December 3

STOCKTON, CA – A serious two-car collision in Stockton left multiple people hurt after one of the vehicles veered off the highway and came to rest on a city street, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 5:20 p.m. on eastbound Highway 4 and involved a Tesla and another vehicle. The impact forced the second vehicle off the roadway, sending it down onto East Washington Street.

Three people were inside the car that ended up on the street. Firefighters had to carefully rescue two of them, and all three were taken to the hospital with injuries ranging from major to moderate.
The driver of the Tesla remained at the scene and was later taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence, the CHP said.

Authorities are continuing to investigate what led to the crash.
