Hazel Avenue Intersection Hit-and-Run Causes Injuries to Motorcyclist

A hit-and-run accident involving a motorcycle was reported in Fair Oaks on December 3 that injured the rider. The crash happened around 12:33 in the afternoon at Hazel and Phoenix avenues, blocking the number one lane of Hazel Avenue northbound. According to a witness to the accident as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the motorcycle rider had been going at a high speed and cutting in and out of traffic when the collision occurred.

Authorities Investigating Fair Oaks Hit-and-Run

The rider was attended to by emergency responders at the scene of the hit-and-run accident. However, no information was provided on whether that person was transported to a hospital. A tow truck removed the motorcycle. The hit-and-run is under investigation by the CHP to determine exactly how the accident occurred and to locate the fleeing driver.

Hit-and-Run Accidents

Hit-and-runs occur around Sacramento more and more as drivers flee the scene of an accident. At my law firm, we strongly believe that those who are injured because of someone else’s negligence face enough challenges recovering from their injuries. They should not also have to face the financial burden that injuries can bring.

An injury attorney who has handled many hit-and-run cases successfully can help. At my law office, we have a good record of locating fleeing drivers, so our clients can obtain the compensation they deserve and receive justice. In some cases, it isn’t possible to locate the driver, however, there is an additional way to obtain compensation.

Using Insurance to Pay for Accident Injuries

When drivers elect to purchase an auto insurance policy, they are also offered an add-on to cover uninsured/underinsured drivers. Many elect to take this add-on insurance because there are many drivers in California who are inadequately insured or have no insurance at all. Someone who carries this insurance is covered whether it is an injury caused by a car accident or on a motorcycle, bicycle or on foot.

If the injured person does not carry this add-on policy and a family member in the household does, then they can use that to pay for their injuries. The cost of the policy remains unchanged and doesn’t go up if it’s used.

How an Accident Is Investigated

To claim personal injury damages following an accident injury, it must be proven that negligence by another individual or entity was the cause. Our investigators talk to the witnesses to get their statements and look over the report by the police for mistakes. They search for area traffic cameras to see if the hit-and-run was captured on tape. This can help identify the fleeing vehicle.

How an Injury Lawyer Can Help

Accident injuries can throw a person’s life upside down. No one is ready to face the unexpected physical pain and emotional stress an accident causes. While family and friends rally around, it is important to have the insight a Fair Oaks lawyer can provide.

The law can be complicated, and insurance companies are not always willing to pay for medical costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Let our firm’s investigators and lawyers help you obtain the compensation you deserve. Your peace of mind and ability to move past the accident and its cost are our first priority.
