The incident, reported at 4:02 a.m., involved an unspecified number of vehicles blocking three lanes of the Nimitz Freeway. All lanes were temporarily stopped as emergency responders worked to clear the scene.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed that one driver suffered a broken leg and a possible back injury. Additional injuries were not reported. An ambulance was summoned, and at least one individual was transported to Highland Hospital for treatment. A tow truck was also called to remove a Chevy Traverse involved in the collision.
