Multiple Casualty Two-Vehicle Collision Occurs on Twin Cities Road

A two-vehicle collision on July 28 caused 11 people to be transported to hospitals with injuries in rural Sacramento County. The crash happened along Twin Cities Road near Interstate 5 around 2:00 p.m. when a sedan struck an SUV broadside. Three people suffered major injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), and some of those involved in the crash were juveniles.

Cause of Two-Vehicle Collision Under Investigation

The remaining eight injured who were transported to hospitals either suffered minor trauma or were being checked as a precaution. Authorities do not suspect drunk driving as a contributing factor in the crash. The accident will be investigated by the CHP traffic accident unit to find out how it occurred and to place fault.

Facing the Future Following a Two-Vehicle Collision

You face pain and suffering when you and/or loved ones suffer injuries in a two-vehicle collision. However, you may also worry about how you will manage to pay your mounting medical costs and cover your bills since you cannot work. This is where the services of a personal injury lawyer can help.

Personal Injury Lawyers Work to Recover Compensation for Your Losses

Personal injury attorneys specialize in helping those injured in a collision get the compensation they deserve. From the outset, a lawyer can review your case to determine if you are entitled to damages and, if so, how much. Your attorney will then assess any evidence from the crash scene, such as photos, traffic camera footage or witness statements to build your claim for compensation. If needed, they may also contact medical experts to provide detailed assessments of your injuries that could influence the amount of compensation you receive.

Negotiating With the At-Fault Party’s Insurance Company

Your personal injury attorney can also help negotiate with insurance companies who may be trying to reduce their liability by offering a lower settlement than what is fair for your accident-related expenses and suffering. They understand that insurance companies are interested in protecting their bottom line and will use this knowledge to your advantage.

Representing You in Court After a Two-Vehicle Collision

Your injury lawyer can also represent you in court if a settlement cannot be reached. However, the vast majority of these claims are settled outside of court. Insurance companies are seldom interested in being taken to court because of the negative publicity they might receive. In some cases, a trial may be necessary and will help build a strong case to ensure you receive the compensation you deserve.

No one deserves to suffer after an accident caused by another driver’s negligence or recklessness. If you find yourself in this situation, it is important to seek the services of a personal injury attorney who can help protect your rights. They can provide sound legal advice and representation so that you receive fair compensation from insurance companies while allowing you time to focus on recovering from your injuries.
