Yuba City Crash Hospitalizes Two – According to information from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), an injury car accident took place in Yuba City on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. The accident reportedly left two people with injuries. According to responders, both injured parties required treatment at a nearby hospital. Officers noted that one of the injured individuals was trapped inside his vehicle after the collision took place. Staff from the Yuba City Fire Department needed to extricate the man from his vehicle using special machinery. Details about the injuries sustained during the accident have not been made available, and updates regarding the conditions of the injured parties remain unreported.

Crash Details

According to CHP, the accident took place at about 12:00 p.m. A woman had been driving eastbound on Bogue Road close to the Hastings Way intersection in a black pickup truck. At the same time, a man had been driving an SUV westbound on the same roadway, approaching the pickup. According to CHP officer Alex Tolmachoff, the SUV veered across the roadway median and into the eastbound lane. The woman in the pickup was unable to avoid a crash.

Responders were immediately sent to the accident site. Officers reported that they found both drivers with injuries. The woman was immediately taken to the Rideout Hospital for treatment. CHP Officer Josh Clements noted that firemen needed to completely remove the top of the SUV to remove the driver, who had been pinned underneath the driver’s seat. After firefighters freed the man from his wrecked SUV, he was transported by ambulance to the same hospital.

Car Accident Investigation

CHP investigators say that they are looking into possible causes of this accident. However, officers say that they do not know why the SUV veered out of its lane. According to Tolmachoff, the driver of the SUV reported that he did not fully remember the events leading up to the motor vehicle crash. While an investigation is still being conducted, Tolmachoff noted that intoxication by drugs and/or alcohol is not suspected to have been involved.

Calling an Injury Lawyer

After suffering an injury in a car accident, your life can be dramatically changed. Often, people who survive collisions are left with injuries that are not only painful and difficult to recover from physically but are expensive as well. On top of paying for surgeries, medicine, ambulance fees, and other medical costs, injured people often have to take time off work and may even have to quit their job. However, injured people can recover these damages by filing a personal injury claim.

Personal injury claims seek to hold reckless drivers and other negligent parties financially responsible for their actions and the payments that people can claim cover a wide variety of losses. However, the recoverable damages are different for each specific case, and not all injuries call for the help of an attorney. To know whether or not your injury damages can be covered, it’s a good idea to speak with a Yuba City car accident lawyer.
