Wrong Way Driver Kills West Sacramento Man
I’m Ed Smith, a West Sacramento personal injury lawyer. A wrong-way motorist was driving along Interstate 80 in Sacramento during the evening hours of Tuesday, February 7, 2017. The negligent driver kept driving even after sideswiping one vehicle and eventually crashed head-on into an innocent victim.
What Happened?
A woman was behind the wheel of her Ford Mustang traveling west along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 at approximately 10:00 p.m. Due to the woman driving the wrong way on Interstate 80 eastbound, she sideswiped a Chevy Impala in the vicinity of Raley Boulevard. The woman continued to drive against the flow of eastbound oncoming traffic until she reached Northgate Boulevard. The woman then crashed head-on into a man driving a white Dodge Challenger.
What Caused the Accident?
The cause of the automobile accident has not been disclosed by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). It generally takes up to two weeks for a traffic collision report to be processed. CHP officers have not yet determined whether the female driver of the Ford Mustang was driving under the influence before the crash.

The following video demonstrates the severity of this automobile accident. Multiple ambulances were dispatched to the scene to assist the injured victims of the crash.
Fatal Injuries
Unfortunately, the driver of the Ford Mustang and the driver of the white Dodge Challenger passed away at the scene of the head-on crash. The man driving the white Dodge Challenger was later identified as 24-year-old Fernando Bravo Maya.
Young Man Forever Remembered
Fernando Bravo Maya leaves behind a son and a family that will miss him greatly. A GoFundMe account has been set up by the loved ones of Maya to cover and pay for funeral expenses.
