Woman Killed in Truck Accident in Oakdale Area

A woman was killed after a truck accident on Highway 108 in the Oakdale area on the evening of Sunday, October 25, 2020. The big rig crash happened at approximately 6:15 p.m. and involved a 2014 Freightliner truck and a 2015 Chevrolet Impala. The Freightliner tractor-trailer was headed westbound on SR-108 while the Chevrolet was traveling eastbound. For unknown reasons, the Chevrolet drifted off the highway, lost control, and slid sideways across the roadway. The Chevrolet entered the direct path of the Freightliner, causing the truck to strike its passenger side and pin the driver in. The trucker and his passenger, a 63-year-old woman of Demorest, Georgia, both complained of pain. Fire crews were called to the scene to extricate the driver out of the Chevrolet. Sadly, she suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office has identified her as 26-year-old Mikayla Agee-Mathewson of Modesto.

Loss of a Loved One in a Fatal Truck Accident

A commercial truck is overwhelming in size and can weigh as much as 30 times more than a passenger vehicle. When a smaller passenger vehicle and big rig collide, the passenger car may sustain extreme damage as a result. Trauma to the occupants of the smaller vehicle can be catastrophic or even fatal. A deadly 18-wheeler crash may be grounds for a wrongful death claim, and truck firms often act quickly by hiring defense attorneys right away. You and your family should do the same and reach out to an experienced wrongful death attorney in Oakdale for legal representation.

Truckers, trucking firms, and insurance companies do not have your best interests at heart and are only focused on protecting their bottom line. Our legal team cares about the needs and concerns your family may be experiencing during this difficult time and will work diligently to obtain the justice you all deserve in your time of loss and grief.
