Vacaville Man Passes Away in Motorcycle Crash

I’m Ed Smith, a Vacaville motorcycle accident attorney. A 29-year-old resident of Vacaville, identified as Gregory Sanford, was killed in a motorcycle accident in Fairfield on Friday, September 30.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Sanford’s family and friends during this difficult time.

Details of the Accident

According to news reports, emergency dispatchers received 911 calls around 9:10pm on Friday night reporting a crash involving a motorcycle, which occurred at the intersection of Air Base Parkway and Dover Avenue. Responding officers from the Fairfield Police Department reported that Sanford was traveling east on Air Base Parkway towards Dover Avenue. As Sanford entered the intersection on his bike a Saturn SUV made a left turn in front of him. The Saturn was traveling on Air Base Parkway in the opposite direction.

The two vehicles collided, throwing Sanford from the motorcycle. Emergency personnel performed first aid on Sanford, but police said that he died from his injuries at the scene. The SUV was driven by a 17-year-old resident of Vacaville and was not injured in the crash. A passenger in the SUV did suffer minor injuries. Officers had the intersection closed until 2:00am Saturday morning to perform the investigation.

Police said that they do not believe drugs and alcohol played a role in the accident. Police also said that once the investigation is complete, the evidence will be submitted to the Office of the District Attorney if it was found that criminal charges should be filed. Fairfield police are asking for any possible witnesses to the accident to contact their office with information.
