Community Events in Vacaville

Residents of Vacaville enjoy living in a sunny town located between Northern California’s two largest cities. With large metropolitan areas being so close, it can be easy to overlook the many exciting events happening right at home. Below are only a select few of the fun, engaging events happening in Vacaville in the coming month.

Town Square Concerts

Each Friday night, starting May 5 and ending June 9, citizens of Vacaville can head downtown to hear great music in the town square. Starting at 6 p.m., the city of Vacaville hosts different musicians each week. The event is completely free to the public and there is room for dancing and socializing. Those attending are encouraged to bring along comfortable seating if they feel like relaxing while hearing the music. Not only will great entertainment be provided, but the town square is close to the downtown area’s many excellent restaurants including Los Reyes, Pure Grain Bakery, Fuso, and more.

Wings Over Solano

On the upcoming weekend of May 6 and 7, Travis Air Force Base will be hosting an extensive Air Show on-base just outside of the city limit. The show will include demonstrations of some of the most exciting aircraft at the base and performances from talented pilots. The event is completely free to the public and goes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event even includes activities for young children at the Wings Over Solano Fun Zone, where kids will have the opportunity to design T-Shirts, paint their faces, participate in themed contests, and sit in the cockpit of a real airplane.

Solano Symphony Annual Pops Concert

On May 7 at the lovely Vacaville Performing Arts Theatre, the Solano Symphony Orchestra will be holding its annual Pops Concert which will feature works from composers such as Beethoven, Verdi, Ivanovice, and more. The symphony will be led by local conductor Maestro Semyon Lohss and is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Ticket prices for the general public are set at 31$, although there are discounts for seniors, active military, students, children, and families who purchase their tickets as a group.

Vacaville Public Library Science Day

The Vacaville Public Library at Town Square is hosting a science day for kids on May 18 at 4 p.m. Volunteers from Genentech will be there in order to teach kids scientific principles, as well as lead them through various exciting experiments that will demonstrate scientific practices and encourage kids to become inquisitive about the mysteries of the natural world.
