Two-Vehicle Traffic Collision Reported on Stockton Boulevard

A traffic collision involving two vehicles in Sacramento on June 3 caused minor injuries. The accident happened on southbound Stockton Boulevard just north of Massie Court around 1:45 p.m. The individual who called the accident into the California Highway Patrol (CHP) was a state employee in an official vehicle.

Cause of Traffic Collision Being Determined to Assign Fault

The accident, which involved a Jeep Cherokee and Dodge Challenger, blocked the number two lane. Sacramento Fire Department responders determined that minor injuries had occurred. It was not reported whether treatment was provided at the scene or if anyone was transported to a hospital. The cause of the collision is being determined by CHP traffic crash investigators.

Symptoms in a Traffic Collision Can Turn Into More Serious Trauma

In a minor injury traffic crash, the initial symptoms may appear to be mild or even non-existent at first. However, these symptoms can quickly escalate in severity and can even turn into more serious trauma. Possible signs of a delayed symptom injury following a motor vehicle accident include but are not limited to:

Seeking Medical Attention After a Traffic Collision

It is important for anyone who has been involved in a car crash to seek medical attention as soon as possible after the incident so that any potential injuries can be assessed and appropriately treated. In addition, if your minor injury turns out to be something more serious, the medical check helps provide proof of your injury if you should seek compensation from the at-fault party.

Contacting an Injury Lawyer Following a Traffic Accident

It is beneficial for those who have been injured due to another’s negligence to contact a personal injury attorney who can help them pursue a claim for damages. An experienced lawyer will be able to review the details of the incident and tell you whether you have the basis of a claim. Recoverable damages can include:

  • Any medical expenses associated with the traffic accident are recoverable if another driver or entity was the cause. This includes everything from ambulance fees and hospitalization to surgeries, doctors’ bills, tests, medications and rehabilitative care. By keeping a record, you may also recover your out-of-pocket costs, such as an Uber to your medical appointments or gasoline and parking for your own vehicle.
  • Wages lost because of your injury can be recovered as well as the value of your pension and insurance benefits and other bonuses you would have received at your job. Adjustments are made if you become permanently disabled or have to take a job that pays less because of your injury.
  • Recovery of compensation for pain and suffering is possible. In many instances, in addition to the physical trauma, the injured party suffers from emotional and psychological problems such as nightmares, anxiety, depression and others.
