Things to Know About Auto Accidents and Bodily Injury Claims

The time following a traffic crash may be stressful and complicated, to say the least. This is especially true when injuries are involved, such as internal trauma, broken bones, spinal cord injuries, and head trauma. Accident-related injuries may lead to emotional distress, followed by financial hardship. Medical bills, wage loss, and other damages may add up quickly and leave injured parties unsure of how to proceed in their situation. If another party was responsible for the incident, an injured party may be entitled to compensation for economic and non-economic damages.

If you were injured in a recent motor vehicle collision, you may expect to deal with the insurance company representing the other party. This will generally involve a bodily injury claim to seek reimbursement for accident-related injuries and losses. However, if the at-fault party does not have liability insurance or carries limited coverage, it may be challenging to navigate the process. In such circumstances, you may have recourse if you have uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage. You may seek reimbursement for economic and non-economic damages with your insurer if you have UM/UIM protection.

You may recover accident-related losses from the UM or UIM portion of your insurance policy through settlement negotiations with the insurer. At AutoAccident.com, our injury lawyers can help you seek maximum compensation for your damages.
