Two-Vehicle Crash in Natomas Results in Injury

Intersection Crash in Natomas Causes Major Vehicle Damage

A two-vehicle crash in North Natomas on June 26 resulted in one person being transported to a nearby hospital. The accident was reported by the Sacramento Police Department as occurring at the intersection of Elkhorn Boulevard and Sageview Drive around 4:37 in the afternoon. Both vehicles involved in the intersection collision sustained major damage.

Two-Vehicle Crash Results in Injuries

One individual was treated at the scene of the intersection crash by emergency responders with the Sacramento Fire Department. Another had suffered injuries described as non-life-threatening and was taken to a hospital for further treatment and evaluation. Investigators with the Sacramento Police Department are conducting an investigation into the two-vehicle crash to determine fault and how it occurred.

Collecting Compensation Following an Accident Injury

I strongly believe that no one should be financially liable for accident injuries that were caused by another party. A two-vehicle crash can leave an injured person with mounting medical bills and lost wages from being unable to work. In addition, they have to deal with the pain and suffering of that injury. Seeking advice from an experienced lawyer may be helpful. I can look over your case, answer all of your questions and tell you what options are available to you to collect fair compensation. Your first consultation is free, and you owe nothing until your case is won.

Investigating a Two-Vehicle Crash

Around 40 percent of all traffic collisions occur at intersections. Traffic is coming from multiple directions and complicated by the presence of pedestrians, bicycle riders and motorcyclists. Drivers have to exercise extreme caution to avoid accidents. Some reasons accidents happen at intersections include:

  • Denying another motorist the right of way
  • Speeding so that the driver cannot stop in time to avoid a collision
  • Distracted driving, which is a common cause of rear-end collisions
  • Turning in front of another motorist and misjudging the distance of an oncoming car
  • Drunk or drugged driving
  • Making an illegal U-turn
  • Running through a stop sign or red light
  • Making a right turn without looking for oncoming traffic
  • Sideswiping another vehicle while turning
  • Poorly designed intersection
  • Poor intersection maintenance including obstructions to visibility, too narrow lanes and confusing signs

How a Two-Vehicle Crash Is Investigated

It isn’t unusual for a motorist to deny fault after an accident occurs. This is why it is important to have the accident investigated by collecting the evidence needed to support an injury claim. My law office has successfully obtained compensation for many people in Natomas who have suffered injuries over the years. Among other things, our investigators review the police report for mistakes and talk to witnesses.

They conduct accident reconstruction and check for video footage of the two-vehicle crash from nearby business and traffic cameras. They seek evidence to see if the government entity charged with maintaining the intersection was at fault. Often, a non-working traffic light, overhanging tree limbs, poorly marked lanes or potholes can lead to a two-vehicle collision. In addition, the investigators determine if the at-fault driver was speeding, driving drunk or distracted or other infractions. When the evidence is all compiled, our lawyers use it to deal with the insurance company on the client’s behalf or take the case to court if necessary.
