Two-Vehicle Accident in Natomas Causes a Non-Life-Threatening Injury

Natomas Two-Vehicle Accident Injures One Person on San Juan Avenue

A two-vehicle accident on August 1 around 3:02 a.m. in South Natomas caused injuries to one person. Others involved were treated by Sac Fire emergency responders at the South Natomas scene. The accident, according to representatives of the Sacramento Police Department, happened along San Juan Avenue when a white sedan was found to have rear-ended a black SUV. The injured party was described as having injuries that were non-life-threatening. The Natomas accident is being investigated to discover how it occurred.

A Rear-End Collision as the Cause of a Two-Vehicle Accident

Accidents involving two vehicles can happen in a number of ways. The majority of them are caused by an error on the part of one of the drivers. When driver negligence is the cause, an experienced personal injury lawyer can help the injured person obtain fair compensation.  When an accident of this type is a rear-ender, types of driver error that can occur include:

  • Distracted driving is the number one cause of a two-vehicle accident. The driver may be talking to a passenger, texting, or chatting on a cell phone or checking their GPS. Even a momentary distraction is enough to end up in a rear-end collision.
  • Drunk or drugged driving is common as a cause of a two-vehicle accident. A driver who is under the influence exhibits poor judgment, slowed reflexes, and loses the ability to judge distances.
  • Fatigued driving has become more common. A driver who performs shift work, stays up late the night before, or suffers from a medical condition such as sleep apnea is more likely to strike another vehicle.
  • Road rage or aggressive drivers can intentionally cause a rear-end collision. These angry people often cut in and out of traffic, run red lights, and verbally threaten other motorists.

Evidence Collected in an Accident Investigation

When a client wishes to place a claim for compensation from the at-fault party following a traffic crash injury, strong evidence is necessary to support it. This is where our investigators excel. They go right away to the accident site and investigate in the following way:

  • Our investigative team performs accident reconstruction, including taking photos and calculating the positioning of the vehicles.
  • The police report is checked for mistakes, and witnesses are interviewed.
  • Cameras that might have caught the accident as it happened are sought. This may be from road or traffic surveillance cameras or even from witnesses with cell phones.
  • The investigators also check for government negligence as the cause of a crash. A poorly designed intersection or roadway, bad lighting, defective traffic lights, and other neglect can lead to a two-vehicle accident. If government negligence is the cause, the timeline for filing is much different. A lawyer experienced in handling government claims can ensure that paperwork is filled out correctly and filed within the deadline.

Once the evidence is compiled, our seasoned lawyers use it to negotiate with the insurance company on the client’s behalf. If the insurance company refuses to pay what our client deserves, it can be used in civil court. In this way, our clients will be able to collect the amount needed to cover all of their medical expenses, wages lost from being unable to work, and for their pain and suffering.
