Two Injured in Suspected Clearlake DUI Crash

Two people were injured in a suspected Clearlake DUI crash that happened on Wednesday, November 6, 2019. The accident happened on the southern end of Clear Lake close to Clear Lake Riviera and involved two vehicles. Both drivers were hospitalized for major injuries following the incident. Updated reports on the conditions of the injured parties have not been released by hospital staff so far. While the vehicle driver was placed under arrest by California Highway Patrol (CHP) on DUI charges, the accident remains under official investigation.

Crash Information

Police reports indicate that the accident happened at around 6:24 a.m. A 32-year-old woman was stopped at the intersection of Highways 281 and 29 in a 2002 Ford pickup truck. As the woman entered the intersection, she reportedly pulled in front of a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, resulting in a head-on collision between the two vehicles.

CHP officers responding to the accident reportedly placed the Ford driver under arrest for DUI before she was placed on a helicopter and flown to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento to receive emergency treatment. The driver of the Chevrolet was transported via ground ambulance to the Sutter Lakeside Hospital in the city of Lakeport.

Recovery After Accident Injuries

Suffering injuries in an auto accident can have life-changing consequences for you and your family. Not only is the process of recovery often long and difficult, but being seriously injured can affect many different aspects of your life, including your finances. Paying for the necessary medical procedures, therapy, and medicine to properly recover from your injury can be very expensive, and many injured people are unable to work. This means that they are liable to lose a source of income either permanently or for a significant period of time.

It’s important for families to have financial stability while their loved ones are in recovery. For this reason, injured accident survivors are able to file personal injury claims in order to obtain the compensation they deserve for their losses. The payments available through these claims often include a wide variety of losses related to both financial and personal damages. To learn about what payments might be available to you and your family, it’s best to get in touch with a trusted car accident lawyer who can listen to the specifics of your case and give you the advice you need to move forward with a claim.
