Turlock Residents Fatally Injured in Stanislaus County Crash

I’m Ed Smith, a Turlock car accident lawyer. Two Turlock residents were driving together east of Knights Ferry during the late evening of November 26, 2017. Sadly, this would be the last ride the two would take together due to an unexpected rollover accident.

Our condolences are with the family members of the two parties that passed away in this tragic accident.

Accident Details

A woman was behind the wheel of her 2002 Ford Mustang traveling along Highway 120 near Rushing Hill Lookout Road at about 11:13 pm. The woman allegedly lost control of her vehicle due to wet conditions and veered off the road and into the center median. This caused the Ford to overturn several times. The vehicle then collided with some rocks, a tree and finally came to a rest on its roof.

Nature of Injuries

Emergency responders were called to the scene of the rollover accident. The two injured parties were located upon arrival of emergency personnel. Sadly, the two parties were pronounced deceased at the scene due to the severity of their injuries.

Identities of Victims Unknown

The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the identities of the two parties pending notification of next-of-kin.

What Caused the Accident?

It is still too soon to determine an exact cause of the accident. Generally, Traffic Collision Reports are processed within one to two weeks from the date of the crash.

Rollover Accidents and Crushed Roof Injuries

Studies have found that rollover accidents usually produce a higher risk of severe injury and death when compared to other types of motor vehicle accidents.  While the structural body of motor vehicles are intended to provide an area of protection for its occupants, rollover crashes may cause a vehicle’s roof to collapse into its safety zone. This can result in an increased risk of crushed roof injuries for vehicle occupants. Automakers are legally obligated to design and manufacture vehicles that provide sufficient safety for its occupants. It is important to contact an experienced Turlock car accident lawyer when the roof of a manufactured vehicle has failed to absorb impact properly and prevent its occupants from injury or death.
