Watt and Marconi Avenues Site of Two-Vehicle Traffic Accident Injury

A traffic accident resulting in an injury occurred in North Sacramento on November 19 when two vehicles collided. The accident happened around 4:16 in the afternoon along northbound Watt and Marconi avenues in the Arden-Arcade area between a Hyundai Elantra or similar vehicle and a Chevy Yukon. Following the collision, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) police report, the Chevy was pulled over into a nearby parking lot.

One Injury Reported in Watt Avenue Traffic Accident

Medics with the Sacramento Fire Department were called to assess injuries to one patient. No information was provided on whether that patient was transported to a hospital or treated at the traffic accident scene. The CHP is determining through an investigation which driver was at fault for the crash.

Negligence in a Two-Vehicle Traffic Collision

Two-vehicle collisions are among the most common, and negligent actions of some type are the usual cause. Some of the ways in which a motorist can be negligent include:

  • Distracted driving is a common cause of all types of traffic collisions, even at intersections. A driver who is busy talking with passengers, texting, changing a radio station, or performing other activities instead of concentrating on the roadway can cause a collision.
  • Running a red light or stop sign often occurs at intersections. In some cases, the light has just turned red, and the driver passes through anyway. In others, the driver is speeding and can’t stop in time to avoid a traffic accident.
  • Drunk driving that results in a traffic accident can happen at any time, although they are more common on weekends and during the nighttime hours. A drunk driver has problems focusing, concentrating on the surrounding traffic, and their reflexes are slower.
  • Tailgating is a form of reckless driving and is dangerous because the driver doesn’t have enough time to stop in time to avoid hitting another car.
  • Fatigued driving is most common in the afternoon hours and late at night. A driver who is too tired to be driving exhibits many of the characteristics of a drunk driver and can even fall asleep behind the wheel.

Placing a Claim for Compensation Following an Injury Accident

Someone who has been injured in a traffic accident may suddenly discover that their medical bills are piling up, they’re losing unpaid time from work and having to deal with their pain and suffering. Our injury lawyers have successfully upheld an injured person’s right to fair compensation for many years. By filing a compensation claim, the following may be recovered:

  • All medical expenses associated with the traffic accident injury can be recovered. This includes the ambulance fee, hospitalization, physician bills, prescriptions, surgeries, tests, and rehabilitation. If the injury continues into the future, those costs are factored in by the attorney.
  • Compensation for your pain and suffering is recoverable. Many people who’ve been injured in a traffic collision suffer psychological and emotional side effects in addition to physical pain and suffering. These effects may range from anxiety, sleeplessness, and fear to reliving the accident over and over. When professional treatment is required to treat post-traumatic stress disorder, the cost can be recovered.
  • Lost wages from the inability to work are recoverable, including any usual bonuses. If the injured party is permanently disabled or has to take a pay cut for a lower-paying job, that loss is factored into the settlement.
