Three Hospitalized After Car Accident in Antioch

Three parties were hurt and hospitalized after a recent car accident in the city of Antioch. The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District (CCCFPD) and the Antioch Police Department (Antioch PD) were called to the site of a motor vehicle collision at 11:57 p.m. at the 4000 block of Lone Tree Way.

The incident involved a car that had crashed into a tree, and three occupants were trapped inside. Firefighters arriving at the scene used the jaws of life to extricate two adults and a child from the vehicle. The two adults were transported to John Muir in Walnut Creek while the child was taken to Oakland Children’s Hospital. All three parties were reported to be in critical condition. An update regarding the conditions of those injured in the single-vehicle accident was not immediately available.

Types of Personal Injury Compensation in a Motor Vehicle Accident

Motor vehicle crashes can turn the lives of those involved upside down. Injured parties may end up with mounting medical expenses and lost income from not being able to work. If another individual was responsible for the car accident, an experienced Antioch personal injury attorney can help you by negotiating with insurance companies on your behalf and advise you on your best options for recovery. The financial compensation you may seek after a traffic collision may include:

  • Costs of past and future medical treatment related to the car collision
  • Lost wages and loss of future earning potential
  • Loss of consortium for the damage a car accident has caused upon a marital relationship
  • Property damage for bills related to the repair or replacement of the damaged car
  • Pain and suffering, including emotional trauma and mental anguish in connection to the auto crash

These are not the only economic and non-economic damages you may be able to claim after an auto accident. That is why it is essential to speak to an experienced personal injury attorney in Antioch. An injury lawyer can determine the types of losses you may be able to recover and negotiate with insurers on your behalf. What is the Time Limit for a Personal Injury Accident Case?

In California, the filing deadline for a car accident injury claim is generally two years from the date of the crash. If you fail to bring a lawsuit within the two-year statute of limitations, the court will likely dismiss your case, and you will not be able to recover any monetary awards. That is why it is critical to act quickly after a traffic crash. If you contact our legal team following an accident, we will have more time to gather evidence and build a strong case for compensation against the insurance company. If we are not able to agree on a full and fair settlement from the insurer, we will file a lawsuit to protect the statute on your behalf.
