Recovery of Compensation Following an Injury Accident

If a negligent driver has injured you in a car accident, you should seek legal counsel immediately to determine your rights and pursue compensation if appropriate. An accident attorney can investigate the accident to determine fault, gather the evidence needed to support your claim and handle negotiations with the responsible party’s insurance company. Furthermore, you may be able to recover the following damages:

  • Costs associated with medical care related to a T-bone crash near Red Bluff can be recovered. This includes your hospital and physician’s bills, ambulance fees, medical tests, surgeries, and others. In addition, if your injury has not been resolved by the time of settlement with the insurance company, future medical expenses can be factored in.
  • Loss of wages due to injury-related incapacity to work can be recovered. Lost wages include your pension and insurance benefits, bonuses and others. If you are self-employed, tax returns and payment receipts can be used as proof of your income.
  • Physical and emotional trauma causes pain and suffering, which results in recoverable compensation. Many people who are injured suffer not only physical but emotional trauma, such as anxiety, depression, sleeplessness, nightmares and even reliving the accident. When professional care is needed to address these issues, the cost of treatment is recoverable.

Working With an Accident Attorney Has Many Advantages

You can file your accident claim correctly and on time by working with an accident attorney. As the entire process unfolds, a lawyer can provide guidance and advice, ensuring important details aren’t missed. Your lawyer can negotiate on your behalf with insurance companies and use investigators to help maximize your compensation.

In addition to gathering the evidence you need to support your case, a lawyer can assist you by compiling this information into a strong case to win. The advice may also be provided in the event of inaccuracies in determining liability or damages by the insurance company.
