stockton crash

I’m Ed Smith, a Stockton personal injury attorney. A solo vehicle accident occurred in north Stockton during the evening hours of Monday, September 25, 2017. Sadly, the crash claimed the life of a young man.

What Happened?

A man was driving home from work in his 2001 gold Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The Chevrolet was traveling northbound along Pacific Avenue in the vicinity of Lincoln Avenue at about 10:25 pm. For unknown reasons, the Chevrolet veered onto the sidewalk and collided with a signal pole. The Chevrolet continued northbound moments before striking a tree north of the intersection.

A woman who resided nearby the area of the collision was inside her home at the time. She ran outside and discovered the damaged Chevrolet. The woman stated that she checked up on the man to see if he was okay, but he was unresponsive.

Fatal Crash

Emergency responders were called to the accident scene. When they arrived, they located the injured man. He was transported to a local hospital where he later passed away from unspecified injuries.

What Caused the Accident?

Details regarding the cause of the car accident were not immediately available. An investigation is ongoing. A Traffic Collision Report generally takes one to two weeks to be processed. Sometimes, traffic reports are inconclusive or inaccurate in determining fault. This may leave the loved ones of a deceased party with many, unanswered questions. When someone loses their life in a motor vehicle collision, it is vital to contact an experienced Stockton personal injury lawyer. A seasoned attorney can investigate further into the matter by studying the accident scene and sequence of events leading to the crash to properly pinpoint liability.

Loved One Forever Remembered

Jaime Avila was a devoted member of his family. He and his twin brother were the youngest of his family with four brothers and three sisters. He was a passionate tattoo artist and operated the Mudville Tattoo shop along Harding Way prior to his employment at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Health Care Facility in southeast Stockton. He and his twin brother, both former football players of Edison High School, were both looking forward to attending an upcoming alumni game. Unfortunately, he will never have the opportunity to do so due to this unforeseen tragedy. Avila leaves behind a family who will forever love and remember him in their hearts.

Our condolences are with the loved ones and friends of James Avila who lost his life in this tragic accident.
