Stanislaus County Pedestrian Fatality

A Stanislaus County pedestrian fatality occurred on the night of February 6 at Joe’s Travel Plaza along Howard Road in Westley. A man in the parking lot was struck by a big rig that was backing up shortly before 8:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His identity has been withheld by authorities due to pending notification of family members. Our sincere condolences are extended to those mourning the loss of their loved one during this difficult time.

Investigation of the Stanislaus County Pedestrian Fatality

The cause of the pedestrian accident is unknown due to an ongoing investigation by CHP. The large truck was towed away from the scene for further investigation. Some of the factors that may be involved in accidents such as these include speeding, drowsy driving, failing to yield to a pedestrian, brake malfunction, and more.

Pedestrian Accidents and Wrongful Death

When a loved one is lost in a pedestrian accident, it can have a significant emotional impact on the family. In such difficult times, families also have to deal with the financial concerns of their loved one’s death. This is especially true if the decedent was the primary provider for the household. Filing a wrongful death claim against the party responsible for a loved one’s death can help provide some financial security and closure for those affected. These types of claims help cover end-of-life expenses such as medical bills incurred in a fatal accident, costs of a funeral and burial, loss of future income for the family, and more. How a Law Firm Can Help

An experienced wrongful death attorney in Modesto understands the psychological, emotional, and financial impact that accidents which result in the loss of a family member have. The attorney can help in difficult times such as these by helping guide a bereaved family through every step of the legal process. By doing so, the family can focus on recovering and grieving while the attorney ensures they receive the compensation they need and deserve. Although no amount of money can bring a loved one back, compensation from a wrongful death claim can help a family move forward from their loss.
