A Man’s Best Friend Taken Too Soon
I’m Ed Smith, a South Sacramento Pedestrian Injury Lawyer. On Friday, June 27, 2016, a pedestrian and a dog were next to a signal light, where they were struck by an unexpected vehicle at approximately 7:10 am. The driver of the vehicle fell asleep after working a graveyard shift. When he was exiting Highway 99 for Florin Road west, he struck a signal light hurting a nearby pedestrian and pet dog. The dog was killed at the scene according to California Highway Patrol. The pedestrian was taken to Kaiser South with major injuries from the accident.
Local Bicyclist Forever Remembered
A local Sacramento bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run accident in the South Sacramento area on Friday, June 27, 2016 at approximately 5:50 am. The bicyclist was struck at Parker Avenue and San Francisco Boulevard alongside Stockton Boulevard where the vehicle, identified as a white sedan, had fled the scene immediately after the collision. The bicyclist was a part of the local biking community where the members mourn the loss of their fellow bicyclist. All witnesses can remain anonymous and are encouraged to contribute any tips or details to California Highway Patrol at (916) 681-2300. We extend our condolences to the friends and family members for this tragic and terrible loss of life.
