A left-turn accident by a motor vehicle caused major injuries to a motorcyclist southwest of Sloughhouse on December 11. The collision happened shortly after 2:00 p.m. along Sloughhouse Road. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) initially reported the accident as a solo vehicle on fire.

Motorcyclist Transported to Hospital Following Left-Turn Accident

Officers determined that the driver of a Subaru was making a left turn into a driveway and struck the oncoming motorcycle, causing major trauma to the rider. The left-turn accident blocked both lanes of Sloughhouse Road. Metro Fire Sacramento exported the injured rider to Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Hospital for treatment. CHP traffic crash detectives are handling the investigation into the collision.

Compensation Following a Motorcycle Accident Injury

In the event that a negligent driver causes you harm in a left-turn accident, you may be entitled to compensation. The most common cause of accidents is driver error. The sooner you contact an experienced personal injury lawyer after an accident, the better your chances of being able to file a claim for serious injuries.

Collision Evidence Supports Injury Claims

Using investigators, your injury lawyer can determine the cause of a motorcycle accident and who was at fault. The motorist can be liable for damages if evidence proves they were negligent. The lawyer you hire can negotiate with the negligent driver’s insurance company to recover compensation for your losses. As you seek justice for your injuries, you can have your rights protected by an accident attorney.

Recoverable Damages From Motorcycle Accidents

After a motorcycle accident, it is important to understand the damages that may be recoverable from the person responsible for the crash. Among the losses caused by injuries are:

  • Any medical care related to the injury, including surgical procedures, doctor visits, hospital stays, and prescription drugs are recoverable.
  • Having missed work as a result of the injury will allow you to recover your lost wages and future earnings if your trauma is ongoing.
  • In addition to compensation for your physical pain and suffering, emotional injury and mental anguish can also be claimed as damages.
  • It is possible to seek compensation for lost enjoyment of life experiences, such as hobbies or recreational activities caused by your injury if you can no longer engage in them.
  • Loss of companionship, consortium, and support may be recoverable by the spouse or partner of the injured party.

If you are injured in a motorcycle accident, you may be able to recover a variety of damages. It is important to understand these types of damages to seek compensation for them. As you recover from your injuries, you can protect your rights with the help of an injury attorney.
