Skateboarder Seriously Injured During Auburn Auto Accident

On Saturday, February 29, 2020, one person suffered serious trauma during an Auburn auto accident. According to officials from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the injured party had been skateboarding at the time of the accident. Updates on his medical condition have not yet been provided by hospital staff. Additionally, CHP officers have indicated that they are actively investigating this incident.

Crash Information

The collision happened at around 7:38 a.m. on Highway 49, close to the Luther Road intersection. An Auburn man was riding a long-board on the highway and heading north at an unknown speed. CHP indicated that, at the same time, another Auburn resident was driving south on the highway in a Honda Accord. As the Honda driver attempted to make a left turn to enter eastbound lanes of Luther Road, the skateboarder entered the intersection and collided with the vehicle’s front end.

Response

After being notified about the crash via phone, CHP sent out emergency responders to the collision scene. At the crash location, responders discovered the skateboarder lying on the highway with severe injuries. The individual was placed in an ambulance immediately and rushed to the Sutter Roseville Medical Center to receive care.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle was uninjured during the incident.

Investigation

So far, investigating officers haven’t mentioned what factors, if any, they believe may have been involved in this accident. However, police have stated that they do not suspect intoxication was a factor. In many cases, accidents like these are caused by a factor that neither party is able to control, such as a malfunctioning car part or an issue with the roadway.

Calling an Attorney

The period of time directly after suffering an accident injury is often very stressful. Not only are crash survivors often in a lot of pain, but they also frequently worry about how they will be able to continue living their lives while they recover. All of this can mean facing a huge amount of mental stress, which may feel overwhelming.

However, negligent parties are usually not experiencing the same stress and are typically very quick to start building up a legal defense in an attempt to disclaim responsibility for the crash. This means that at-fault parties often get a head-start defending themselves from having to pay injured parties the compensation that they deserve. In order to ensure you are able to claim payments for your hospital bills, medications, physical therapy, lost income, and other damages, it’s vital to get in touch with a skilled, experienced Auburn personal injury lawyer who can help you file a claim. If your lawyer can begin working on your case early on, they will be able to be even more effective at making sure you obtain the compensation that you deserve.
