Shingletown Car Accident Causes Injuries

Two people suffered injuries during a Shingletown car accident that took place on Monday, December 23, 2019. According to information reported by California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision involved two vehicles and happened on Highway 44 just east of the small community of Shingletown. Medical officials indicated that the injuries suffered during the incident were not life-threatening. However, both injured parties were given hospital treatment.

Crash Details

The accident happened at around 10:30 a.m. near the exit for Emigrant Trail on Highway 44. Specific details about how the two vehicles collided were not provided in CHP reports. Police stated that when emergency responders reached the crash scene, they found that at least one person was trapped inside of their wrecked car. Responders reportedly called fire crews to assist with a “major extraction” from the damaged vehicle.

Initially, police called for a helicopter ambulance to assist with crash response. However, medical officials determined that the injured parties did not require an airlift to the hospital and used ground ambulances instead.

Investigation

CHP has indicated that their investigators are currently attempting to find out what may have caused this accident. So far, reports about suspect factors have not been made available. With two-vehicle collisions like this one, a variety of common factors can be involved, many of which can’t be controlled by drivers. These factors include pavement or roadway defects, faulty vehicle parts, and more.

The Effects of Crash Injuries

People who are injured during a car accident often have a difficult path to recovery ahead of them. Firstly, being injured is painful and recovering takes patience, strength, and time. Many crash survivors have to receive multiple medical procedures that can include numerous surgeries. Typically, being seriously injured also means that you will need to undergo physical therapy and use medications for an extended period of time in order to regain your health.

All of this can be very stressful as well as extremely expensive. Crash survivors and their families can often feel anxious, depressed, or even overwhelmed by their situation and may wonder how they will be able to move forward with their lives.

In order to make sure that you and your family have stability after a serious crash, it’s critical to reach out and call a Redding personal injury lawyer at your earliest opportunity. By pursuing an injury claim, survivors are often able to obtain payments to cover their medical expenses as well as pay for their lost income and other damages. By claiming these payments from negligent parties and/or insurance companies, crash survivors can be assured that they have the resources they need to keep living their lives.
