Is There Enough Insurance for a Bicycle Crash and Serious Injuries?

When a driver with little or no insurance causes a bicycle accident, the cyclist may need to depend on their insurance company to pay their damages. If they have a policy of their own or lives with someone who has uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage (UM/UIM), recovery of losses incurred may be possible so long as the cyclist was not listed as an excluded member. In the case of a hit and run bicycle accident, UM coverage may also be used to cover injuries and damages.

Our Mono Vista personal injury lawyers understand that UM and UIM coverage issues can be challenging. Our accident attorneys have worked with injured cyclists in proving liability, establishing insurance coverage, and personal injury losses.

Why You Need an Injury Attorney for a Bicycle Accident

After a bicycle accident, a cyclist may be out for work temporarily or even permanently as a result of their injuries. Because of this, they need full and fair compensation to cover their medical expenses, lost income, mental distress, and any bills they incur to improve their home to accommodate any permanent disability they may have suffered. At AutoAccident.com, our Mono Vista, CA personal injury attorneys can develop an accurate calculation of the needs of our clients. Insurance companies, claims adjusters, and defense attorneys often underestimate the future needs of injured cyclists, which causes them to end up paying for their losses out of pocket. Our injury lawyers will not let that happen.

After calculating the full and fair value of a personal injury claim, our injury attorneys will negotiate with the at-fault driver’s insurance company to obtain the compensation our client is rightfully owed. If we cannot agree on a fair personal injury settlement offer with the insurance carrier, we will prepare the case to be taken to trial if that is what it takes to get the justice they deserve.
