Two People Seriously Injured in Arroyo Willow Drive Rollover Collision

A single-vehicle rollover collision occurred in Sacramento on August 5, causing major injuries. The crash occurred near the Arroyo Willow Drive intersection with Florin Road at about 5:30 p.m. A California Highway Patrol (CHP) report said that one person had been ejected in the collision.

Two Transported to Hospital Following Rollover Collision

Two suffered significant injuries and were transported to a hospital for medical attention. An investigation is currently underway by the CHP traffic crash unit to discover what happened to cause the crash. Drunk driving was not considered a factor in the accident.

Accidents Involving Vehicle Rollovers

Due to their nature, serious injuries or fatalities will likely result from rollover crashes. If a person does not have a seatbelt or other restraint, they are more likely to be injured because they could be thrown out of the vehicle. It is also possible to sustain injuries from flying debris during a rollover accident. It is possible to crush occupants if vehicle parts are not adequately protected.

Roof Collapse Caused by a Rollover

During a rollover collision, the roof caves in if the vehicle’s design does not meet standard requirements. Deaths and injuries caused by roof crushes frequently increase, including broken bones, spinal cord trauma, and traumatic brain injuries. Many automakers fail to construct their vehicles with enough roof and side strength to prevent their roofs and sides from collapsing during a rollover, even though it is required to do so to sell them. The injured are also more challenging to remove from vehicles due to roof crush, and there is less room for survival.

Roof crushes can occur for several reasons, including:

  • Creating a defective or weak roof
  • Improper manufacturing or installation
  • The roof structure needs to be reinforced
  • Inadequate testing

After being injured or losing a loved one, you should retain your vehicle so that experts can examine it for roof crush. In addition to consulting with an accident attorney, you can file a product liability claim to hold those responsible accountable for the accident.
