Sacramento Pedestrian Killed
I’m Ed Smith, a Sacramento Pedestrian Accident Lawyer. A man was fatally struck by a vehicle while walking on a roadway in Citrus Heights on Saturday evening, September 10, 2016. The family of the man killed have many unanswered questions regarding the tragic death of their loved one.
What Happened?
The man who was killed had been walking along Madison Avenue after he was discharged about two hours prior from the Mercy San Juan Hospital. He was walking along in the dark when fatally injured by an oncoming vehicle. Authorities from the California Highway Patrol were able to identify the man by a medical bracelet he still was wearing. The hospital was located within one mile of the accident scene. Officers said the motorist of the vehicle who hit the pedestrian had their headlights on but did not have enough time to react or come to a complete stop before impact. A preliminary report indicated that the motorist who hit the pedestrian has not been arrested.
Family Searching For Answers
The family of the man who passed away is looking for answers. According to the decedent’s son, he had last communicated with his father two weeks prior to the fatal pedestrian accident. He said he was not aware that his father was in the hospital. He said the tragedy has left his family in a state of shock. They wonder how this all happened. The family of the man will be conducting their own investigation in order to find out how everything played out before the accident. A Mercy San Juan spokesperson did not go into details about the man due to privacy laws for patients, but did issue a statement. The spokesperson stated that the mission of Dignity Health is to provide patients with outstanding care and treatment services.
