Doctors say it is too soon to tell what impact the brain injury has had. Coulson is a father of a 10-month-old infant and works as an elderly caregiver. However, his injuries are severe, and he may be hospitalized and in rehab for an extended period. An investigation into the cause of the crash and search for the fleeing driver is ongoing by authorities.

Locating the Fleeing Driver in an Injury Collision

The injury lawyers at AutoAccident.com understand how important it is to locate a Sacramento hit-and-run driver after an accident, especially if the injuries to the pedestrian are severe. The injured person has the right to recover compensation and to hold the fleeing driver responsible for their actions. Accident attorneys often have the experience and resources to locate a hit-and-run driver by investigating the case.

A Sacramento hit-and-run driver investigation can include reviewing the police report and witnesses, performing accident reconstruction, and checking nearby businesses, homes, and traffic cameras to see if the collision was captured on video. In addition, the investigators go to the accident scene to take photos and collect evidence, such as paint smears and metal or plastic pieces. This type of evidence is used to identify the model and make of the vehicle since they are specific to manufacturers.

Filing a Personal Injury Claim

By seeking the assistance of an accident attorney to initiate a personal injury claim, the injured individual can potentially regain the following:

  • All medical expenses incurred due to the accident-related injury, including ongoing costs, if they persist at the time of settlement.
  • Recoverable income lost due to the inability to work during recovery. In cases of permanent disability preventing future employment, income recovery extends until retirement.
  • Compensation for amputation and enduring disfigurement.
  • Compensation for the physical and emotional trauma endured by the injured person as a consequence of the accident.
