Sacramento Cyclists Celebrating National Bike Month in May

I’m Ed Smith, a Sacramento bicycle accident attorney. Our law firm has earned a reputation for helping local cyclists who’ve been seriously hurt in bicycle accidents caused by the negligence of others. We know how to carefully investigate a case and then successfully negotiate with the defendant’s insurance company on your behalf. Should you ever be personally hurt in this type of accident, we hope you’ll contact us right away.

Come Celebrate and Go Cycling with Your Family and Friends!

Our firm is helping to spread the word that Sacramento cyclists can take part in some truly enjoyable National Bike Month events in May that allow us to all ride our bikes together. While some of us may prefer the shorter rides that allow us the chance to stop and chat with others along the way – others may feel ready to head out on the longer rides.

Here’s a look at some of May’s special cycling events sponsored by groups like Bike Party Sacramento. More details are provided on the MayIsBikeMonth.com and Sacramento365.com. Strap on your helmet, grab your bike and join us!

Cartoon Madness

The Cartoon Madness event is scheduled for Friday, May 5th, 2017 and should be a lot of fun for everyone. You’re free to dress up as your favorite cartoon friend regardless of whether that’s Superman, Wonder Woman, or Mickey Mouse. Feel free to decorate your bicycle in advance with streamers or glowing lights so you can stand out as you start out with others at the Sutterville Bicycle Company. You can either keep up with others for the entire 12-mile ride or cut your participation short as necessary. This is a free event that’s scheduled to run between 7:00 to 11:00 pm.

Sac Brew Bike Race

If you’re ready to do some good for others, we hope you’ll join other Sacramento cycling enthusiasts for this first-time charity event dubbed the “Tour de Capitol” Charity Race Ride on Sunday, May 7th, 2017. Participants pedal on Brew Bikes throughout the day. The event runs from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Teams must pay a $250 entry fee — and all collected funds will go to a worthwhile local charity. You can have as few as six members on your team — or as many as fifteen. The race starts at the Sac Brew Bike Bar located at 1519 19th Street. Those taking part are encouraged to wear team costumes.

Capitol BikeFest

Several groups are sponsoring the 13th annual Capitol BikeFest on the west lawn of the state capitol on Thursday, May 11th, 2017. This event strongly promotes riding bicycles as a healthy, environmentally friendly alternative to all other forms of transportation. The activities last from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Eligible parties can obtain a raffle ticket that may help them win some cycling gear – or even a commuter bicycle.

The Johnny Cash Folsom Prison Blues Bike Ride

This is an eight-mile biking event for Sacramento Cyclists. It is held near the infamous prison where country singer Johnny Cash played two concerts during the 1960s. Many fans remember Cash best for songs like “Ring of Fire” and “I Walk the Line.” This free event is on Sunday, May 28th, 2017 and lasts from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Everyone is encouraged to wear Cash’s favorite color black. Of course, you’re free to wear something a bit cooler that day. Meet up at the corner of Reading Street and Folsom Boulevard.
