Accident at Greenback Lane Intersection in Orangevale Injures Motorcyclist
A motorcycle crash resulting in a major injury to the rider occurred in Sacramento County in the Orangevale area on August 21 that left a rider lying in the roadway. The collision was reported at the intersection of westbound Greenback Lane and Kenneth Avenue around 10:24 a.m., according to the report issued by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The individual who called in the crash said they were unsure whether the rider was struck by another vehicle or it was a solo motorcycle collision.
Rider Transported to Hospital With Major Injury After Motorcycle Crash
The left lane was blocked by the accident. Upon arrival by emergency responders, they determined that the rider had suffered a major injury, and the patient was transported to a nearby hospital. A Toyota Camry reportedly pulled over to the right-hand side, which was apparently involved in the collision. Both the car and motorcycle were removed from the scene by tow trucks. The accident is under investigation by the CHP to determine how it occurred and to assign fault.
Motorcycle Accident Injuries
Because of their vulnerability in any type of collision, motorcyclists often suffer traumatic injuries in a crash. From broken bones and internal damage to traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord trauma, an injured motorcyclist can end up spending a long time in the hospital and recovery is slow. This means the injured rider can face high medical expenses and lost wages from the inability to work along with the pain and suffering they must endure.
Dealing With the Insurance Company
When an injured rider tries to deal with an at-fault driver’s insurance company in an attempt to recover compensation for a motorcycle crash injury, the insurer will often try to low ball and reach a settlement quickly. By doing so, the insurance company saves a great deal of money if the injury is severe or expected to continue into the future. The problem is that if the motorcyclist accepts the early compensation and signs off on the claim, they will probably end up facing all those high medical bills and other losses with no recourse but to pay it themselves.

Recovering Compensation After a Motorcycle Crash
We send out investigators out right away to collect the evidence needed to support a motorcyclist injury claim for compensation, such as:
- We look for driver errors by the motorist that could have caused the motorcycle crash such as speeding, running a red light or distracted driving.
- Accident reconstruction is performed, which often indicates which vehicle was at-fault.
- Area surveillance cameras are checked to see if the motorcycle crash was caught on tape.
- Witnesses are interviewed and the police report is checked for errors.
