Rollover Crash in West Sacramento Occurs on Jefferson Boulevard

Driver Injured in West Sacramento Rollover Crash

A West Sacramento driver was injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash on June 12 along Jefferson Boulevard. Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) were sent to the area around 10:00 p.m., along with emergency responders with the West Sacramento Fire Department. They were responding to a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a highrise. Radio reports stated that the vehicle was moving at a high rate of speed but had apparently missed a curve and crashed.

Rollover Crash Discovered

First responders discovered the vehicle had experienced a rollover off the roadway. No highrise building was involved. Reportedly, that area along Jefferson Boulevard between the vineyards and radio towers is referred to as the highrise by some local residents.

Driver Transported to Nearby Hospital

The driver of the vehicle was found responsive and alert and was taken to a hospital nearby for further treatment and evaluation. The CHP is investigating the collision to determine how it happened. It was not reported whether alcohol or drug consumption contributed to the crash.

Dangers of a Rollover Accident

A rollover crash is one of the most dangerous types of collisions for a number of reasons. The airbags go off, of course, however, they deflate quickly and offer no further protection to the driver and occupants inside the vehicle. Besides the dangers of an overturning vehicle, occupants inside may be ejected or strike themselves a number of times on the inside.

The car may experience roof crush. Although there are recognized standards for vehicles to protect its occupants from roof crush in the event of a rollover, not all manufacturers strictly adhere to these guidelines. Rollovers often result in serious injuries such as traumatic brain injuries, broken bones, and spinal cord damage. Because of the seriousness of these accidents, it is crucial to preserve your wrecked vehicle after a rollover. Having an experienced lawyer to help you get compensation is important to pay all of your medical and other bills.

Conducting an Accident Investigation

While police investigate accidents at the time they occur, so do independent investigators. This is because the evidence is necessary to support a strong personal injury claim for compensation. We send out investigators to the rollover crash site quickly to collect evidence before it disappears after the scene is cleaned up. Areas in which an investigation is conducted include:

  • Going over the police report to look for mistakes
  • Talking to the witnesses
  • Conducting accident reconstruction, which can help determine fault by the placement of the vehicles and evidence of driver error such as speeding
  • Examining and photographing the scene of the rollover crash, which helps document vehicle and other damage
  • Looking for real-time documentation from traffic and business surveillance cameras
  • Checking for signs of road damage such as potholes or non-functioning lights, which could mean the government entity in charge is liable for damages

After compiling the evidence, our lawyers go to work to construct a case for the recovery of damages for the client. It is used both to negotiate on the client’s behalf with the insurance carrier and to prepare a case for civil court in the event the negotiations are unsuccessful. My law office has a high record of wins at both the settlement table and in court verdicts.
