Redding Man Killed in Texas Crash
Authorities confirmed that a Redding resident lost his life during an accident that took place in Abilene, Texas, on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. The man was identified by area authorities as 35-year-old Joshua Sanders. According to officers of the Abilene Police Department (APD), the accident involved a single vehicle and left one other person with severe injuries. An investigation into the accident is reportedly being conducted by APD.
Collision Information
The accident happened on US Highway 80 at around 3:30 in the morning. A 32-year-old Abilene resident had been driving a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck eastbound on 80 when the vehicle collided with a concrete barrier close in the area of Fulwiler Road. Police reports indicated that Sanders was partially ejected through a vehicle window as a result of the impact.
When responders reached the accident location, they found that Sanders was seriously hurt during the accident. Sadly, he lost his life on-site. The driver of the vehicle was found with major injuries, and police had him rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate care. Updates on his condition were not available.

As police are looking into what may have caused this accident, no suspected crash factors have been reported.
