Rolling hills and woodlands describe the landscape around Diamond Springs. The foothill community is located near Highway 50 in El Dorado County, known for its Gold Rush history. Some of the town’s buildings are listed as California Historic Landmarks, and many still stand today.

Diamond Springs is centrally located near some of the best wineries in the Sierra Nevada. Nearby Camino and Placerville wineries are just minutes away, while Plymouth in Amador County is only a half-hour’s drive, making for a fantastic wine-tasting getaway.

Explore the Natural Wonders 

Diamond Springs is an ideal place for nature lovers at the Sierra Nevada base. Many creeks and streams run through the area. For hiking enthusiasts, Dave Moore Nature Area is a great place to hike. The trails and natural wonders are scenic beauties, and you will have a fantastic time in the company of nature. There are picnic benches on the path throughout your journey where you can rest if you get tired.

Less than an hour away, the El Dorado National Forest is filled with miles of scenic trails through lush forests, lakes, cascading waterfalls, and rocky alpine terrain. Some must-see routes include Granite Lake Trail, Caples Creek Trail, and Thunder Mountain.
