Police Charge Delhi Man in Turlock Critical Injury Crash

The nature of the crash, unfortunately, caused the two young girls to suffer critical injuries. The investigation has determined that the Delhi man allegedly caused the accident as a result of negligent driving. Therefore, the man was arrested on Monday, December 11, 2017 and is facing serious charges for his negligent actions.
Accident Details
A 22-year-old Delhi man was driving his Volvo sedan along West Hawkeye Avenue in the vicinity of Golden State Boulevard on the afternoon of March 29, 2017. The Volvo was allegedly traveling at a speed in excess of 60 miles per hour moments before colliding with an Acura carrying a mother and her two young daughters. The impact of the collision caused both vehicles to sustain serious body damage.
Nature of Injuries
Medical crews were called to the scene of the car accident. Upon arrival, paramedics evaluated the injuries sustained by the parties involved in the crash. The mother in the Acura sedan was taken to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries. The two young girls of the mother, a 4-year-old and a 13-month-old, both suffered major injuries as a result of the car accident. Emergency personnel performed life-saving measures on the 4-year-old at the scene and transported her to a children’s hospital where she later underwent surgery for a spinal cord injury. The 13-month-old girl suffered a leg fracture, collapsed lungs and head trauma. Fortunately, the mother and her two daughters survived the collision despite the severe nature of their injuries.

Authorities Arrest Delhi Man
According to authorities, the Delhi man driving the Volvo sedan was allegedly speeding moments before the crash. Reckless driving was determined to be a factor in the collision due to the given traffic and roadway conditions when the incident occurred. Upon conclusion of the investigation, officials issued a warrant for the man on one misdemeanor charge of reckless driving causing injury and one felony charge of reckless driving causing great bodily injury in September 2017. The lead officer of the investigation recently followed-up with the man to inform him of the warrant and he turned himself in on December 11, 2017. The man has been booked into the Stanislaus County Jail and is being held on a $110,000. A court hearing has been set for the man on December 18, 2017.
